WHY SPB

A Glance of Sekolah Pelita Bangsa

Founded in 2005, Sekolah Pelita Bangsa (SPB) was the first school in Cirebon to offer an international curriculum. In 2011, SPB became a Cambridge International School (ID -171), and in 2014, it officially received its license as a Satuan Pendidikan Kerjasama (SPK) from the Ministry of Education and Culture.

SPB is accredited "A" (Excellent) by the Badan Akreditasi Nasional for all its educational qualifications. It is a testing center for the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) exams. SPB has collaborated with the College of Education, Concordia University, USA, for many years. In 2018, SPB became an Online HSK testing center.

Our programs are designed to be age-appropriate and meet international standards. English is the primary language of instruction, with significant emphasis on Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin.

Early childhood and Kindergarten students follow the Cambridge Early Years curriculum, while students in Primary up to Junior College follow the respective Cambridge qualifications and will sit on international benchmark tests provided by Cambridge Assessment International Education, a division of University of Cambridge, UK.

Students from Primary to Junior College also have the option to take the HSK test, an international standard for assessing Mandarin fluency, preparing them for higher education in Mandarin-speaking universities.

The SPB campus is designed to be a welcoming and engaging second home for students. Located in a safe residential complex away from busy main roads, the campus features two main buildings: Building A (Dewi Sartika) and Building B (K.H. Dewantara). We maintain our facilities to the highest standards and incorporate the latest technologies to support the educational process.

Our faculty and staff are dedicated to helping students reach their highest potential. Both our Indonesian and expatriate teachers bring valuable experience, excellent teaching skills, and a strong commitment to meeting the specific needs of our students.

We believe in partnering with parents to educate our students. We encourage two-way communication between school and home and use various approaches to keep parents connected. Since 2006, our newsletter, now named CATALYST, has provided school updates and is available in digital format. Additionally, parents can monitor their children’s progress through SPB GET ALMA, a digital learning management platform.
